Cocobolo Burl!!!
Here is without a doubt one of the finest Burls in the world. Not only is this Burl one of the Rarest but this particular one (IMHO) has got to be one of the most spectacular figured that I have ever laid my eyes on. Absolute gorgeous figure going all over the place, layers of color, loads and loads of character blooming out of this fine piece.
This is only the second one featured here and it will probably be a long, long time before any more come this way. This comes from the jungles of Guatemala and weighed in at 112 lb's before trimming.
Blanks will be sealed after cutting/picture taking to ensure satiability.
Remember that all Burl wood should be considered "wet" because the extreme growth patterns hold moisture and when cut the internal stresses are released allowing for slight movement. Therefore sealing and letting your blanks stabilize in your home environment is always a good thing. How long they sit before turning is totally dependent on humidity levels where you live and your preferred storage/drying methods.
